Hiking Lost Valley Trail – Ponca Arkansas
2.2 Miles R/T: This trail is one of the most popular hiking trails in the Buffalo National River area. According to the research I did on this trail, there is no bad time to of year to hike this hike.
Wildflowers and medicinal plants are abundant, including bloodroot, crested iris, columbine, mayapple, comfrey and Ozark trillium (again, according to what I’ve read).
The waterfalls in Lost Valley run best after a rain, but even in drier summer months the trail is pretty and merits the approximate 2 hours it takes to complete the hike. There wasn’t a tremendous flow when we visited, but it truly was beautiful anyway!
We highly recommend this hike!!
Thanks so much for watching!
