Razorback ROAR – NCAA Choices Grant

The University of Arkansas was recently awarded the NCAA CHOICES Grant to educate students about the dangers and consequences of excessive alcohol usage. The NCAA CHOICES grant assisted in establishing ROAR- Razorbacks Offering Accountability Resources- a newly registered student organization at the University of Arkansas. ROAR will lead a campus-wide effort to encourage students to make better and smarter choices when it comes to alcohol through student-led initiatives that will: 1) increase student awareness of alcohol misuse and abuse behaviors, 2) decrease high-risk alcohol usage, 3) engage students in fun, creative, and interactive ways including public service announcements led by peers (like this one), bystander training, fun social media and marketing events/speakers, and involvement with other campus partners and events such as GREEK life’s Alcohol Awareness week, It’s on Us week, and Sober Spring Break. Our partners include: U of A Athletics, Greek Life, Housing, UAPD (campus police), and Walton College of Business.
