Most of the KIPP Delta Blue Hornets have never played football before the 2021 season and, on Oct. 2, many had only been practicing for three weeks.Their first test as a new football team — with a full scrimmage against state-champion contender the DeSoto Thunderbirds — was set to be a trial-by-fire.
