Brooklyn’s basketball footprint is about to grow.
The 2024 WNBA champion New York Liberty will soon be training in a state-of-the-art 75,000-square-foot facility in Greenpoint, BSE Global, the owner of the team (and, full disclosure, BKMAG), announced today.

The building, which will sit along Newtown Creek, is projected to open in 2027. It will feature two full courts outfitted with remote cameras and data-tracking technology and, instead of a conventional locker room, private suites for players, with full-height wardrobes, daybeds, storage, and more. The facility will also offer an outdoor court, rooftop dining area; a two-story strength-training room with indoor and outdoor areas; a full recovery suite (featuring steam, sauna, and massage rooms); a nail, hair, and makeup studio; and two private family lounges.
“We are a player-first organization, and investing in health and wellness has always been a priority for us. The New York Liberty deserve a facility of their own: one that reflects their tremendous talent, work ethic, and ambition,” Clara Wu Tsai, governor of the New York Liberty, said in a statement. “This facility is a sign of our commitment to the team, to the city of New York, and to the advancement of women’s sports.”
“This the way that the women’s sport is definitely continuing to evolve,” Breanna Stewart, a power forward with the Liberty since 2023, told the New York Times.

Designed by Populous, the firm behind the Sphere in Las Vegas, the facility will occupy a former lightbulb factory, which will be extended by 40,000 square feet. BSE Global will fund the $80 million project.
The New York Liberty’s 2025 season will begin with a game against the Las Vegas Aces at Barclays Center on May 17. Buy tickets for the game today via Ticketmaster.
